The folks at PreCentral have managed to get their hands on a spec sheet and some photos of a 9.7 inch HP webOS tablet code-named 'Topaz'. HP is expected to officially announce one or two webOS tablets at an event on February 9th. But it looks like we don't have to wait that longer to get details.
The Topaz is rumored to have a 1.2GHz dual core Qualcomm MSM8660 processor, 512MB of RAM and 16GB to 64GB of storage. The 9.7 inch capacitive touchscreen display will have a resolution of 1024 x 768 pxels. Other specifications include Bluetooth, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, optional support for 3G and GPS. The 24Whr battery isn't user replaceable.
The tablet will also have an accelerometer, eCompass, microphone, ambient light sensor, a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, 1080p HD video support, a SIM card slot, a microUS connector and support for OpenGL ES 2.0 graphics. The spec sheet says that the tablet will measure 0.5 inches in thickness and weigh about 1.5 pounds. There is still no word on a launch date or pricing.
