Sony, it looks like, is keen on getting its share of the netbook market. The company did release a few netbooks over the past year or so, but none of them were netbooks in the strict sense of the term. All of these machines had ridiculously price tags that never matched their specs. But now Sony has released a somewhat budget-friendly mini laptop under the Sony YB-series. This machine has an AMD Fusion processor and a starting price of about $550. It is still expensive but not as expensive as typical Sony netbooks.
The Sony YB series laptop has a 1.6GHz AMD E-350 processor with Radeon HD 6310 graphics, up to 4GB of storage and a 500GB hard drive. It also has an HDMI output, VGA, Bluetooth 2.1, WiFi 802.11b/g/n and 3 USB ports. The computer has an 11.6 inch display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. It will be available in several color combinations. The notebook has a chiclet style keyoard and two nice big buttons below the touchpad.
The Sony YB-Series should be available next month.
