I've just installed Lion on a blank drive on a new Air and this is in Software Update. I'm definitely running DP2 as it says in the dialog. Is this telling me to update to something I already have or is there a DP3 I haven't heard about?

It's just a minor (supposedly, not enough people have looked into the deeper changes) upgrade, nothing much new - though you do have to use Xcode 4.1 DP 3 to make applications after updating. Guess that counts... sorta. :P

I don't think the number of clicks is the best metric here. If there are hundreds of articles in a category, it takes a long time to skim through the list of them. If you can spend a few extra seconds narrowing down what you're looking for, it can be much faster to find something.
Then that means merging articles wherever possible, and as I suggested before, using the subcategories as filters rather than points of separation. That way we can reduce article clutter while simultaneously avoiding arbitrary separation between different types of software simply because they don't fit the idea of being "Mac" like.
OK, let's take this one small step at a time and see what we've come up with.
Option 1
Mac Hardware - I'm in favour of "Mac Hardware", not just "Hardware". No need to split iPhone/ iPod software apart.

Genetic tests for identification usually take up to 5-10 days, but usually more than 2. Technology. heh.
We can sequence an entire genome in about two weeks now a-days. (just a few years ago that took about 10 years).
If your in a hurry you can pull off a simple parental genetics test (quite old technology) which is what this would be in a matter of hours. This stuff is child's play in the modern era.

The channels that do not participate are just inching that much more toward obscurity.
Just recently we cancelled the cable subscription (still have KylinTV IPTV) for lack of use. Only one TV show was watched per week, and that can be purchased on iTunes in a superior format to what we got via cable, for a fraction of the cost of cable.
If my provider had an app like this, we would have stayed subscribed. Its arcane to sit down in front of a screen at a predetermined time to watch programming, it really is.

I support veterans and families, they risk their lives and the government screws them over, but I cannot condone the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.
Did you vote for Barack Obama? He supports the violence in Afghanistan, he even increased it.
But back on topic. I think it's smart for the military to review the kit they are deploying down to the soldiers on the ground. They should be doing that far more often than they do. But you can't read too much into it. The Army especially requires a lot of kit of the type that Apple currently doesn't sell (PCs in the category of the Panasonic Toughbooks for example).

I think what we are all seeing is that the differentiating factor between Apple and "the others" is no longer software. Windows 7 is now good enough that it can easily compete with (and in many areas, exceed) the software offering on any Mac.
It's now down to hardware manufacturers to do the work to bring their machines up to a standard to match the OS. From what I've seen Dell have been making significant improvements in recent months and years and Lenovo still exudes quality.
Three or four years ago I wouldn't have considered anything that wasn't made by Apple. But now I'd definitely look at a Windows machine first when replacing my desktop and I'd give some Windows laptops a lot of consideration as well.
Unless I went iMac I would never go Apple for a desktop. I think Windows is better than OS X unless taking into account the benefits of a MBP+OS X in terms of power management/trackpad. Add the cost of a MP and forget it. Laptops they still have the best balance between design, specs, and quality as well as nice battery life in OS X.

RFID is insecure. The british RFID passports have been cracked within less than 48 hours, the German test ones in less than a day. I wouldn't trust RFID for any important and sensible information like payment services. It's fine for stuff like tracking packages or my skiing card - but that's it.
If it is so insecure, why haven't we heard of all the peoplebeing ripped off where it's used quite extensively?

It's too bad really, but he doesn't look long for this world. No one that skinny is healthy. My guess is that the last few months have been spent in trying to put some weight on the guy. Chemo therapy cannot be given to someone who is already too weak......

Apple definitely has the coolness going and the "halo" affect from its iPhone and iPads but in this tough economic time. Its hard to 30% and more for a Mac and you're not getting any much different in terms of hardware (other then a glowing apple logo)

There are plenty of reasons it might have been turned down for their final switcher implementation. One, the final iOS allows a variable number of programs to remain open depending on their memory requirements. The expose implementation implies that 9 can be open. That's inconsistent UI. Two, as others have mentioned, you can't always tell the difference between apps at a glance from little screenshots. So they went with icons in the end.
The current implementation is also inconsistent in the UI department, in that the same action and will result in two different actions.
In some cases, a hold > jiggle > close will result in an app shutting down, and other times the same action set (hold > jiggle > close) will result in an app being deleted.

The current system of showing apps as the same, no matter if they are in a sleep state or in a active state, and letting the user guess which is which is a failure.
Seriously, go look at WebOS and then come back and tell me the iOS presentation is anything other that a generation or more behind the state-of-the-art.
